World Humanitarian Day is an international day dedicated to recognise humanitarian personnel and those who have sacrificed their lives whilst working for humanitarian causes. It is intended to raise public awareness of humanitarian assistance worldwide and each year focuses on a specific theme - bringing people together to advocate for the survival, well-being and dignity of people affected by crises, and for the safety and security of aid workers.
